Trauma

Trauma is all around us. It’s the abusive relationship, an unwanted sexual encounter, a horrific accident, a pandemic, natural disaster, or violent crime. Many of my clients that are dealing with the after effects of trauma have stuck points. They wonder if they could have done or said something different and the trauma would not have occurred. Many people believe they are to blame for their trauma occurring. My work with clients in this area is to help them work through those stuck points.

Anxiety

Clients can experience physical symptoms of anxiety in some of the following ways: stomach cramps, nausea, heart palpitations, sweating hands, headaches. Additionally, anxiety can be experienced as swirling thoughts that complicate decision making. Sometimes people that suffer with anxiety find it hard to leave their homes.

May approach to anxiety is educating my clients about the mind body connection with anxiety. Also to give clients coping skills that help them manage and reduce the symptoms of anxiety.

Life Transitions

Clients who are going through life transitions vary across the age and gender spectrum. Life transitions are experienced by young adults leaving home for the first time. Mothers returning to work after being home for many years taking care of family. Seniors figuring out their identity after they retire. Maybe your relationship of many years ended and now you are single after being in a partnership for so long and you are not sure what to do with yourself. Parents who are empty nesters and are trying to figure out what do they do now after investing so much of themselves into their children. I sit with clients to help them figure out what they want and how to get there.

Premarital Counseling

You have found the one that makes your heart sing, your soul mate. You have decided to get married. I offer premarital counseling packages that include assessments and workbooks that will be the foundation of our work. Most couples only need 6-8 sessions but this can be customized to fit your personal needs.

Anger Management

Many people have a difficult time managing their emotions. They hold things in until they explode. A lot of people don’t know that anger is the emotion on the surface but underneath anger can be many emotions that people are afraid to explore. I can help you explore those deeper emotions, in a safe non-judgmental space. Working with me you will learn to ask for what you need and explore new ways of responding to triggers.

Care Giver Support

Care givers are everyday people who live at the intersections of life. They are partners, parents, professionals, but in addition they have the task of caring for someone who needs help. Often times the person they are caring for is a loved one. Care givers struggle with many things, feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, frustrated and lonely to name a few. I can provide a safe space to vent the many frustrations you are experiencing. Regular counseling is the perfect act of self-care.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit http://www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
