Grief is universal in that we all encounter grief at some point in our lives, but grief is also unique and personal to you. Your experience with grief will look different than those around you, even different than those living in the same home with you.

Are you experiencing anger and a desire to blame the loss on someone or something? Maybe you’re experiencing some guilt around the death of your friend or loved one. You may be thinking “If only I did or said this, the outcome would be different”. Shock, avoidance and disbelief are familiar stuck points around loss. It’s very common to feel isolated and uncomfortable discussing the circumstances surrounding the death of your friend or loved one who died by an overdose, HIV/AIDS, or suicide and you fear judgement for speaking about it.

If any of this sounds familiar you are welcome here. My role is to support you, as you adapt to loss in a safe space for you to be seen, heard, and validated without judgement. I am passionate about the work in grief counseling. My counseling career began as a bereavement volunteer for a hospice agency where I provided counseling to family members whose loved one died in hospice. A lot of my training is dedicated to learning what’s new is the study of grief and bringing that knowledge into the practice.
